Need to jump on the internet? The UVA Health System provides free internet access and phone charging stations to patients and their families. Read on to find out how to access these accommodations and more.
UVA Health System now offers free Wifi, online services, and charging stations to patients and their families and friends to use during their time at the hospital. The UVA Health System is always trying to find ways to improve the time you have to spend with us.
If you need access to the internet to work, read about an upcoming appointment or procedure, check in with someone, or entertain your child, the UVA Health System provides free wireless internet. Once you are all logged into the Wifi, you can remain on the Wifi for up to 7 days before needing to check in again.
To access WiFi at the Health System, select the “uvahealth-guest” network on your device. More details below.
If you need a way to get online, the UVA Health System will allow you to borrow an iPad or other device in the Patient & Family Library located in the main UVA Hospital lobby.

If you need to access the internet during your time at the hospital, choose the “uvahealth-guest” network.
UVA Health System Patient WiFi Setup:
- Enable wireless on your device (most devices have wireless enabled, but check to make sure yours is enabled if it will not connect to the WiFi).
- From your options, select or join the “uvahealth-guest” network.
- In a web browser, navigate to uvahealth.com.
- Accept the terms and conditions and enjoy the WiFi.
Troubleshoot: If you see the message “Cannot verify server identity”, click “cancel” and type uvahealth.com in the address bar of your browser.
